Jessica and her film crew captured the quitters' stories as they occurred, from the "last cigarette" to committed non-smokers and much in-between. Filming included a combination of video diaries and filming the quitters in their daily routines and key life moments. In many of the video diaries, the quitters revealed their most candid, immediate feelings about what they were going through.

Throughout the making of the short film the crew was very much a part of the journey. For 13 weeks, they were there every step of the way - part of the Quitters' personal moments and their ever-changing highs and lows. To quote one of the crew members about the experience, "It felt like we were all in this together".

As the resident Quit Coach, Dr. Tim Cline was an instrumental part of the quitting process. Behind-the-scenes, he coached and educated the film crew on the quit process, the issues surrounding nicotine addiction, and the psychological and social aspects of smoking cessation. He helped shape the crew's expectations of a typical quit journey so they could best capture that journey on film. |
